Your imagination is the limit when it comes to finding ways to fundraise.  It’s sometimes easier to ask family and friends to be part of an event, rather than asking for donations.

You can turn anything into a way to raise funds and awareness to support bereaved families.

Whatever way you choose to get involved, you will be making a difference in your own unique way that reflects who you are and how you want to remember your baby. You can make the event as big or small as you want.

Here are some ideas to get you going:

Host a morning tea at your workplace – Invite all staff to a morning tea and ask them to donate to attend.  While they’re there you can tell them why you’re holding the morning tea and about the impact of the support you received has had on your journey as a bereaved parent.

Go thrill-seeking – If you feel like something a bit more high adrenaline you can ask people to donate for you to go bungee jumping, sky diving, ice-climbing, hang-gliding or any other thrill-seeking activity.  These activities are exhilarating, and some bereaved parents find it an important part the healing process.

Go cold turkey - Get healthy while fundraising! Cut out alcohol, cigarettes or sugar, and get your friends and family to support you by sponsoring your efforts.  Sometimes it’s easier to cut something out if you have the motivation of others behind you.

Run a sports tournament – Hold a round-robin event with your local sporting club.  Not only is it a fun day, but you can raise money through entry fees, raffles and silent auctions.
